Australian Electronic Scholarly Editing

eResearch tools to support the collaborative authoring and management of electronic scholarly editions

The aim of the AustESE project is to develop an open-source Workbench encapsulating set of interoperable services to support the production of electronic scholarly editions by distributed collaborators in a Web 2.0 environment.

See the Workbench in action at austese.net.

The AustESE project is a collaboration between The University of Queensland, University of NSW, Curtin University, University of Sydney, Queensland University of Technology, Loyola University, Chicago and the University of Saskatchewan. It is being project managed out of the ITEE eResearch Group at The University of Queensland and is funded by NeCTAR (National eResearch Collaboration Tools and Resources) via the eResearch Tools program from June 2012 to Dec 2013.

The Workbench and its components have been designed to be modular and extensible so that they can be integrated with other online scholarly editing tools and systems. Read about the Services and Source Code for further details on the Workbench architecture and components and their implementation.
